Ma'ruf Amin and Sandiaga Uno`s Contrasting Visual Appearances

18 March 2019 07:33 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The vice presidential debate last night on Sunday, March 17, saw contrasting styles of both Ma’ruf Amin and Sandiaga Uno on stage, with the latter opted to be conservative with a complete black-colored two-piece suit.

Meanwhile, Ma’ruf Amin wore his signature look of combining a white suit, neck scarf, with the traditional sarong and completed with a songkok hat.

According to designer Deden Siswanto, Ma’ruf Amin’s style is a unique visual characteristic among santri or Islamic boarding school students.

“That is the wardrobe of a santri,” said Deden on Friday, March 15.

Meanwhile, Sandiaga Uno’s formal look with the two-piece suit with two buttons is a distinct look compared to his daily wardrobe that tends to meet the casual standard look of wearing polo shirts.

However, as a seasoned entrepreneur, Sandiaga is no stranger to suit up for formal events.

Uno`s appearance is actually consistent to his choice of wardrobe since the first presidential debate started in January this year. Both Ma’ruf Amin and Sandiaga Uno completed their look by wearing black songkoks on their head.
